About the Choir
Before it was formed on 17th of August 1997, Vox Angelorum choir was
actually a group of young people who put interest on music, especially choral music.
The name itself, in latin phrase means "Voice of angels", came from Rm. Antonius Didit, Pr.
Back to August 1996, a year before, the origin choir of Vox Angelorum was assembled to respond a church choir festival (Fesparawi Se-Dekanat II) invitation which was held in Stella Maris church, Pluit, North Jakarta-Indonesia. With 40 singers, 2 officials, and conducted by Mr. Tri Widodo, this choir succesfully won the 3rd runner up. After the festival, the choir decided to keep exist in Maria Bunda Karmel church, Tomang parish, West Jakarta-Indonesia, and their main activity is to serve the curch.
Since May 1997, Vox Angelorum has been conducted by Henry E.P. Sutjipto (from Keluarga Kudus Nazareth choir-Bojong). With Henry E.P. Sutjipto, Vox Angelorum has proven themselves as one of the best church choirs in Indonesia. In the last 10 years, some people who are really competent in music has contributed their knowledge to the improvement of Vox Angelorum. To be mentioned, they are : Tommy Prabowo, Aning Katamsi, Lucy Oendoen, Ivan Yohan, Harlan Hutabarat, and some others.
Now, this 60-voice choir is ready to work hard so that every performance would be the best gift for GOD, Church, Country.

Henry E.P. Sutjipto, Conductor
Henry E.P. Sutjipto started his music education since he was 7 years old by taking an electone organ
course at YMI (Yayasan Musik Indonesia) - Yamaha Foundation, who then appointed him as the instructor
for the same course in 1992 - 1995.
His interest in choir was initiated when he joined the youth choir at his church, Parish of Santo Thomas Rasul, Jakarta. He started his conducting role at his high school choir, SMA Bunda Hati Kudus, which was then followed by founding & conducting the Soli Deo Gloria choir under the Catholic Activity Unit at Trisakti University, Jakarta, until he finished his bachelor degree in electrical engineering in 1995.
He further studied the choral conducting through his involvement in Keluarga Kudus Nazaret choir (conductor: Rodyanta Surathyo) St. Caecilia-Cathedral choir (conductor: Tommy Prabowo) both are the much respected church choirs in Jakarta. He also enriches his knowledge through various seminars & workshops in the country as well as outside Indonesia, including participation in Summer Choral Festival 2003 held by The Extended Education Department, California State University, Los Angeles, hosted by Dr. William Belan & Dr. Donald Brinegar.
In additional to his current role as a conductor in Vox Angelorum choir, he is also an organist in Keluarga Kudus Nazaret choir, and occasionally be a guest conductor in several church choirs, giving choral workshops, and jury in some organ competitions.
